Health Care
Hospital care and physician care are financially supported by provincial and national health programs, and are provided to Manitobans at no charge. Newcomers to Canada who have moved to Manitoba for employment are eligible for this care at no charge if their work permits are valid for at least 12 months. Health care coverage begins on the date you arrive in Manitoba, and all family members listed on your work permit are also eligible. Newcomers to Manitoba must visit the offices of Manitoba Health in person to register for coverage.
