YOUR JOB is to work with people of all ages who, because of injury, illness or disability, need to acquire special skills that will allow them to become more independent and productive. Your scope of responsibilities can cover just about anything that contributes to quality of life including teaching people to care for themselves, helping them recover from injuries and assisting in the acquisition of skills that make them more productive and independent.

YOU CAN WORK IN hospitals, community and volunteer agencies, private clinics, home care programs, residential and independent living facilities, clinics, rehabilitation centres, industry and schools.

YOUR EDUCATION INCLUDES completion of Senior 4 with course requirements to enter program. Graduation from an Occupational Therapy program at a university. U of M students must obtain a previous degree and complete specific prerequisite courses prior to entering the program (degree + 2 years).
