Respiratory Therapist
YOUR JOB is to implement and manage sophisticated critical care therapies and to diagnose, treat and care for patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. You monitor vital signs, conduct diagnostic tests, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, administer medical gases and aerosol therapy to manage and control breathing difficulties.
YOU CAN SPECIALIZE IN adult or pediatric care, anaesthesia, critical care, cardiopulmonary diagnostics, patient education, patient transport and respiratory home care.
YOUR EDUCATION INCLUDES completion of Senior 4 with course requirements to enter University plus graduation from a respiratory therapy program at a university (4 years).
